Working Together to Keep Our Ward Safe |
||
|
Dear Residents, Happy New Year! We hope 2026 brings health, happiness, and a strong sense of community for us all. As we start the year, we want to share our ward priorities and how we’re working together to make our area safer and more welcoming. Your support and involvement are key to tackling the issues that matter most to us all.
Our Current Priorities: 1. Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). We’re committed to making our streets and public spaces safe for everyone. Our team is increasing patrols and working with local organisations to provide support and raise awareness. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, please speak up. Together, we can protect the most vulnerable in our community.
2. Drug Dealing on the Ward We’re carrying out targeted operations to disrupt drug activity and keep our neighbourhood safe. Your information makes a difference—report concerns anonymously via Crimestoppers (0800 555 111).
3. Shoplifting on Joel Street We’re working closely with local businesses to prevent theft and keep Joel Street a thriving shopping area. Visible patrols and community engagement are part of our plan to deter offenders.
How You Can Help: Share any concerns or information with us - every tip counts. Join us at upcoming community meetings to have your say and help shape our priorities. Look out for each other. A strong community starts with strong connections.
Thank you for being part of the solution. Together, we can make our ward a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.
Stay connected
